This is an advertisement for the Illinois gr. 105 from the April 1884 edition of The Jewelers' Circular . The Illinois Watch Company claimed that the gr. 105 was the first American full plate 18 size watch to be timed in positions, and the first with a Breguet over-coil hairspring. It sold for the staggering (at the time) sum of $100. This watch has an incredible finish on every side of every part. Not very many were produced, but it was the forerunner of future high grade Illinois railroad watches, like the 18 size Bunn Special.
