To be collector of 18 size Bunns or Bunn Specials one must know the proper dials for these watches. Many existing examples have had the dials switched over the years and a Bunn with a lower grade dial is not desirable. The dials above are in more or less chronological order from top left to bottom right. The dial on the lower left is the most commonly seen Bunn or Bunn Special dial. The two dials in the lower row with "ILLINOIS" in plain type are typically found only on very late examples (unusually only on movements marked "Illinois Watch Co. Springfield".
Some very early Bunns and Bunn Specials have been seen with glass enamel Roman numeral dials. However, with only a couple of minor variations, if you see a Bunn or Bunn Special with an Arabic dial not pictured above, it is probably not the original dial.
