At first glance these extremely high grade Longines movements look exactly the same, but if you look closely, they are 1 serial number apart. Both movements have the same dial.
I do not know too much about Hemsley, except that he was a RR watch inspector and jeweler in Motreal. Customs Law in the heyday of American watch making made it hard to import high grade foreign watches into the United States at competitive prices. Canadian law was different. It is possible to find many high grade famous maker Swiss watches which were used in the Canadian RR time service.
