The "Interstate Chronometer" was the highest grade private label made for Sears & Roebuck by Illinois. This is an 18s 23 jewel Bunn Special grade open face watch. Sears was one of the largest private labelers of pocket watches, and by far their largest supplier was Illinois. There are 4 types of 23 jewel Interstate Chronometers in all: an open face and a hunter in the 16s Sangamo (Getty) grade and an open face and a hunter in the 18s Bunn Special grade. Production of these watches is very low (under 250 for each type) but they can still be found. I personally can't think of many prettier pocket watches.
