ILLINOIS WATCH CO. - SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS Grade 179 Open Face "Little's B&O Standard" This nice and very high grade railroad watch was made for S. F. Little and Sons. Little was a watch inspector for the B&O in Cumberland MD. Little also had B&O marked watches in 18s 21 and 24 jewel Bunn grade and in a 179 hunter. The grade 179 by itself is a hard to find watch. Many were made as private labels. This version is probably the most desirable of all, and one of the great railroad marked watches. Thanks to interstatetime.com friend John LaCambria for sending along the pictures of this nice private label Illinois. We are proud to make it the August 2001 watch of the month. If you have a watch you would like to submit... |
